2-4 players, two sets of alphabet, number or word cards
- Shuffle both sets of word cards and place them face down in a series of rows.
- Each person takes a turn flipping 2 cards face up. If the words match and the player can read the word, the player takes the cards and has another turn. If they don’t match, turn them face down to finish your turn.
- Play continues until all cards have been matched.
- The player with the most matching pairs wins.
Go Fish:
2 –4 players, two sets of alphabet, number or word cards
- Use both sets of cards. Shuffle the cards and deal five cards to each player. Place the remaining cards in a draw pile between the players.
- The youngest player starts by asking another player for a word that matches one in their hand. If the other player has that word, they must give the card to the first player. If they don’t have the word, they say “Go Fish!” and the first player draws from the deck.
- Players may place matching pairs in front of them.
- Play continues until one player has no cards.
- The player with the most matches wins.
2 players, two sets of alphabet, number or word cards
- Shuffle both sets of word cards and deal half to each player, face down.
- Both players turn their top card face up in the centre. When the words turned over are the same, the first player to call “Snap!” wins both cards from the centre and puts them on the bottom of his/her pile.
- Play continues until one player has all the cards.
